Hi! I'm Amina Metwaly-Gabr. I was born in 2002, and I currently study graphic design at the German University in Cairo. I was lucky to be brought up in a rich artistic environment, surrounded by theatre makers and musicians, artists, and writers. I've dabbled in many kinds of art throughout my life.
By the time I was around 13, I got more and more interested in design and typography specifically, thinking about its structure, inner rhythms, and how it can communicate something specific. I harbor a particular interest in typographical works.
Most recently, I took on analog photography and have been creating short stories through documentary encounters with friends and family (and the nonhuman).
I have previously interned with Cairo's Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival (D-CAF, Egypt), Maerzmusik (Berlin, Germany), and Ntsal (Cairo, Egypt).
