This film was heavily inspired by my amazing mother. As a kid she used to tell me stories that were always open ended, like this short film. I took inspiration from her writing and came up with “the man & the watch”. This short film intentionally leaves the audience unsure of what the fate of our main character is, leaving it up to their interpretation. Whether alive, whether time is manipulated to tread much slower than in reality, or the film feels longer than it should be due to rhythmic montage. Or perhaps, its simpler than all that and he’s just dead. It’s up to the viewer to decide.
